Lunchtime recipes have a reputation for being grab-and-go, scarfed down quickly, and lacking in nutritional value. We like to think that healthy, keep-you-full lunches can be made on a daily basis in a short amount of time with healthy ingredients.
Our California Turkey Club Wrap is thrown together quickly and makes for a delicious lunch that you can eat with one hand if needed. Save this recipe for your weekday inspo or send to a friend who is looking to order in less.
This part is up to your discretion.
We chose a garden spinach-herb wrap for this recipe but there are so many wrap options out there.
Feel free to use gluten-free, whole wheat, or whichever variety fits your preferences.
We like Primal Kitchen mayo as it is made from avocado oil. We know mustard (and condiments in general) can be a divisive subject.
Feel free to tweak or omit these in your wrap.
A few leaves of lettuce gives this wrap crunch and is a refreshing contrast to the heavier ingredients to follow.
Romaine, spinach, arugula, and kale can all be used here.
Typically, the darker the leaves, the higher in nutrients. For example, spinach has higher iron than iceberg which has little nutritional value but does add a nice crunch.
Doing a hybrid of crunchy and nutrient dense lettuce can add some balance.
Feel free to use whichever cheese you have on hand (plant-based works too!). This recipe is about ease and convenience for a quick midweek meal.
Sliced turkey is a good source of easy-to-grab protein and as a lean meat, is low in fat. This helps make a filling lunch out of this wrap.
This ingredient puts the “club” in this California Turkey Club Wrap. We went for turkey bacon as it is lower in both calories and fat than a traditional pork bacon.
Add as much or as little as you’d like. This adds much needed moisture into the wrap and is a classic “club” ingredient.
Adds healthy fat and flavor to this recipe. Can be omitted if you don’t have a ripe one available.
