As this app is more than just yoga, I think the price tag is very reasonable. Considering the fact that a drop-in yoga class at any major studio can cost $20 to $40, you get more bang for your buck if you utilize these at-home workouts regularly.
You could certainly use Alo Moves as your only gym or fitness membership—even if you took 5 different classes per day, you still wouldn’t have gone through them all in one year!
I personally love the Alo Moves app and its fitness classes. The app is intuitive with a user-friendly interface, visually appealing, and easy to use. I like that it recommends classes and series to you based on the survey you complete upon signing up. The videos all have beautiful backgrounds, and the music is a nice addition that is not overpowering. Another plus is that the class lengths vary widely—as short as 5 minutes if you just need a quick reset and as long as 75 minutes for a deeper yoga practice.
If you want a bit of a sense of community when you’re practicing yoga at home, Glo is a good choice, as it offers live classes all day long that you can join with others. Glo also has videos on pilates, barre, HIIT, strength training, and meditation, with a vast library of 7,000 classes. Although the app is not personalized (you have to upgrade to the “Glo coach” for personalized plans), it’s easy to filter the yoga videos by style, intensity, level, and duration. However, I think this app is a bit too pricey at $30 per month.

I think $30 per month is too expensive for an app, but it’s still less pricey than a gym or studio membership. The live classes are definitely a benefit, as taking classes with others (even if you aren’t in the same room) can make it seem a bit more like you’re going to a studio.
I liked but didn’t love Glo. I personally prefer having music in the background of fitness videos, which Glo does not offer. Some of the videos have aesthetic backgrounds in home settings, while others are a bit boring with just a white room.
I appreciate the vast array of classes, including some lesser-seen yoga styles, and I think the instructors are very well-trained and experienced.
If you are a beginner to yoga (or even if you’re not), Yoga Studio is an excellent app for learning yoga poses (asanas). It has in-depth photos, videos, and explanations detailing each asana, ensuring proper form and allowing for modifications. The videos are a bit basic, but they get the job done if you want a no-frills app for learning yoga. Plus, it’s very affordable at $10 per month.
Unsurprisingly, Yoga Studio only offers yoga classes. Most of the classes are geared towards beginners, but there are also plenty of more advanced options.

Yoga Studio is one of the more affordable yoga apps, at $9.99 per month or $69.99 per year. With an abundance of explanations and guides, this app is the perfect one to learn yoga at a minimal cost. \
Although this app has loads of instructional videos and explanations geared towards beginners, there are also plenty of classes for the intermediate and advanced. If you want a no-frills yoga video, this app is for you. The light spa music in the background is appreciated, but the studios used are solely stark white rooms—no frills! The app and videos are a little basic, but if you want to just focus on getting poses right and learning more about yoga, this would be a great app.
The section about poses with in-depth explanations is very helpful—even for someone who has done yoga for many years! I also like that they only have 11 instructors who are very experienced, so you can “get to know” the instructors you use often better. The app also shows in-depth bios for each instructor, including their experience and which classes they teach on the app.
Down Dog is another yoga app I loved, offering the most customization and personalization that I’ve seen at a low price. You get to pick the voice you hear in the videos, music style, fitness level, transition speed, focus area, and savasana length. However, based on what you choose, the app picks the class for you—there’s no menu to select another class. That said, you can change the customization at any time, and you never get the same class twice.
This app is just yoga and meditation, although the strength flow class incorporates some HIIT movement.

With the personalization and loads of yoga styles available, this is one of the most reasonably priced yoga apps.
I love the customization of this app. As someone who gets overwhelmed with many choices, other apps with hundreds of classes can leave me wasting half an hour simply trying to decide which one to take. Therefore, I love that Down Dog decides for you based on what you select, although I can see how some people might not like this. That said, it’s pretty easy to change your selections and get a different class loaded.
I also love that you can personalize the voice in the videos, the music style, and even how long you get to lay in savasana at the end (as long as possible, please!).
Another great feature is that you can change the duration of the class offered to you, toggling from 10 to 60 minutes, and each pose has a countdown timer (nothing worse than holding a Warrior 3 with no end in sight!).
For an entirely free yoga app, YogaTime is a great option—especially if you’re just starting your yoga journey. Although the app and videos are understandably basic, there are about 15 different categories with 5-20 classes in each, offering a pretty wide range of free classes to choose from. You don’t even need to make an account—just download and down dog!

This app is very basic, and the videos are not that high-quality, but that’s expected of an entirely free app. You have the option to add music to each video, and the classes offered are pretty diverse. I’d say they are more focused on beginners, but advanced options are also available. It’s nice that you don’t even need to make an account—you can get started as soon as you download the app.
